Windham Bay area offers some of the best fishing in Southeast Alaska.
The bay and the Chuck River are a fly fisherman's delight! From steelhead to spawning salmon to Dollies, it is not unusual to experience a strike on almost every cast.
Directly across the bay is the Chuck River, known for its salmon and steelhead runs, as well as Cutthroat and Dollies. The bay is home to large Halibut and Salmon. The area consistently produces Dungeness, Tanner and King Crab as well as large Prawns and Shrimp. Portions of the bay are over 600 feet deep and many a large halibut has been laborious hauled from its depths. There is no need to travel far for a gourmet meal since fresh seafood is but a cast away.
